In the last week of term as well as creating our class model of the solar system we also created paintings to show the structure of the solar system.
First we learnt how to tone and tint paint to create the Sun and the atmosphere in space.

We then splattered silver paint on the dry background to represent the stars within the solar system.
Next we had to work out the orbit lines to show how our planets orbit the sun. We had to think about the inner planets and the outer planets and the order that they are in.

The last step was to then paint the planets on. We needed to make sure we represented their appearance, their relative size between each other and their relative distance from the Sun.
